CRNAs for a Safer Nevada is a nonpartisan state-registered Political Action Committee (PAC) dedicated to advancing the profession of Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) in Nevada. Our mission is to ensure patient access to safe, cost-effective anesthesia care by supporting legislative candidates who understand and advocate for CRNAs and the issues that impact our profession.
WHY DO CRNAS IN Nevada NEED A PAC?
Through contributions from CRNAs and supporters, our PAC identifies and financially supports candidates who share our commitment to patient safety, professional recognition, and access to healthcare. These resources help us build strong relationships with policymakers and give CRNAs a unified voice at the Nevada Legislature to support legislators who will work to help maintain and advance our practice rights as CRNAs.

WHY DO WE NEED A SEPARATE PAC FOR Nevada, WHEN THERE IS A NATIONAL PAC AFFILIATED WITH THE AANA?
Simply, the national PAC works on federal issues, and our state PAC works on state issues.
The CRNA-PAC , or the AANA PAC works on federal and regional problems such as
  • Removing supervision and other barriers to CRNA care
  • Ensuring veterans have access to high-quality CRNA anesthesia care
  • Supporting legislation to reverse cuts to Medicare and insurance reimbursement
  • Support the nursing workforce
CRNAs for a Safer Nevada PAC works on CRNA issues within the state of Nevada. Because many of the laws and regulations impacting CRNA practice are determined at the state level, it is essential to have a PAC in Nevada to ensure our voices are heard and our profession is represented in the state legislature.
DOES THE NVANA (state) or AANA (national) organization CONTROL THE CRNAS for a Safer Nevada PAC?
CRNAs for a Safer Nevada PAC is a separate entity from the NVANA and AANA.  We do work in conjunction with the NVANA and AANA by utilizing many of their resources and connections, but the PAC does not receive any financial contribution from either organization.
I already contibute to the AANA PAc, Do I need to contribute to the State PAc?
CRNA’s for a Safer Nevada PAC  does not receive any financial contribution from the AANA PAC contributions. Both entities are working on fronts that will affect your right to practice as a CRNA. The AANA PAC , CRNA-PAC, will work to protect and advance your practice at the federal level, while the state PAC , CRNA’s for a Safer Nevada, works to advance and safeguard your right to practice within the state of Nevada. If you want your voice heard and real change to be enacted at the state level, the PAC needs your support. Your contribution directly empowers us to stand up for you and ensure CRNAs are represented where it matters most at the Nevada Legislature.
CAN CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE PAC COME FROM MY ANESTHESIA CORPORATION OR A LARGER CORPORATION?
Yes, Nevada law permits corporate contributions (anesthesia company) to the PAC. For any annual contribution exceeding $1,000, state reporting requirements mandate that we collect the corporation’s address, just as we do for individuals contributions to the PAC.
